CANDIDATE

Larry Lauer

CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF

Montgomery Republican Central Committee Legislative District 14

NOVEMBER 2, 2010 ELECTION

2010 Maryland General Election

CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I am running for Central Committee for the Republican Party because I do not believe one party rule is in the public interest. Montgomery County has had a history of electing moderates, both Democrat and Republicans to offices at all levels. The result was that, in the recent past, Montgomery County was looked at as an example of good government, with modest taxes and a balanced budget.

In recent years Democrats have occupied every elected public position in the County. The result has been enacting of some of the most radical social policies, increased influence of public employee's unions, increased taxes, decreased tolerance for different opinions, an anti business atmosphere and the county budget is in shambles. I believe there is a direct correlation between one party rule and the current situation.

As a member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee I will work to reverse this recent trend and elect Republicans at every office level to re-establish the checks and balances of a two party system.
